The history of real sport expertise

"That's why we are, who we are". Sport Mitterer did not come up over night. Everything took its course in the seventies. Constant development and a steady focus on quality made us, what we are today. One of the leading sport shops, rental- & service centers in the Saalfelden-Leogang region. Sport Mitterer - that's inspiring us!

1976 - the "Kick off"

Ski racer Paul Mitterer opens his first sport shop in the winter season in a simple hut, including ski rental. He is one of the first in Austria.

1980 - the early years

Over the years the hut was extended, reconstructed and relocated to the location, nowadays known as the Hotel Salzburger Hof.

1986 - the integration

At the end of the eighties, the sport shop was integrated into the hotel.

1992 - the "cycling center"

The Mitterer family buys a garage and transforms it into the first "Pinzgauer cycling center".

2001/02 - the connection

The shop in the hotel becomes too small. This is the birth of a connection between sport shop & cashier house.

2005/06 - the moving

Sport Mitterer moves to the actual building of the cable-car-company.

2010 - the expansion

What follows are extensions of the building and the expansion of the shop-facilities is the cable-car-building.

2014 - the upgrade

During the construction of the new Steinbergbahn, Sport Mitterer opens a second shop in the Steinberg building. In addition, the shop at the Asitzbahn gets expanded by additional rooms for ski- and bike service.
